The Center for Advanced Mathematical Sciences (CAMS) has consistently strived in promoting Mathematics beyond the boundaries of the classroom through outreach activities, workshops, and opportunities for student involvement. One of its enduring goals has been to cultivate a vibrant mathematical community that connects students, educators, researchers, and professionals across institutions and disciplines.
In this spirit, the Center for Advanced Mathematical Sciences (CAMS) is leading the organization of the Lebanese Mathematics Day 2026, an outreach initiative developed in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the AUB Student Mathematics Society and student representatives from universities across Lebanon. Hosted at AUB on Saturday, July 25, 2026, the event seeks to bring together undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, educators, researchers, and professionals who share an interest in Mathematics and its applications. What makes this initiative particularly special is the central role played by students throughout its development. Over the course of the Fall and Spring semesters, student representatives from different universities worked together to shape the program, propose activities, and identify opportunities for collaboration, helping to build what we hope will become a recurring national celebration of mathematics in Lebanon.
The program will include undergraduate and graduate student presentations, alumni sessions, expert-led workshops, Mathematical Games, interactive exhibits, and networking opportunities. In keeping with the outreach mission of CAMS, the event seeks not only to celebrate Mathematics, but also to strengthen connections among institutions and inspire students to explore new academic and professional pathways.
