AUB Mathematics Olympiad: a Training Day

Saturday, September 20, 2025
AUB, College Hall, Auditorium B1

This one-day training is organized by the Department of Mathematics, the Center for Advanced Mathematical Sciences (CAMS), and the Science and Mathematics Education Center (SMEC) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). It is intended for in-service school mathematics teachers whose schools are participating in the AUB Math Olympiad (AUBMO) or plan to join in the upcoming academic year (2025-2026).

Each school — especially those participating for the first time — is encouraged to nominate two teachers, including one who will act as the liaison between the school and the AUBMO organizers.

The training serves three main objectives:
  • Increase visibility and understanding of the AUB Math Olympiad across Lebanese schools and strengthen communication between the organizers of this event and participating schools.
  • Explain the purpose, structure, and procedures of the AUB Math Olympiad.
  • Support teachers in preparing their students more effectively for the different stages of the Olympiad.
