  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

GHN Mobility Scheme

The Center for Arts and Humanities (CAH) is excited to support up to two AUB faculty members to participate in the Global Humanities Network Mobility Scheme in 2025/26. The scheme fosters new research and teaching collaborations in the arts and humanities. You can find more information about the call here:

CAH is delighted to welcome Dr. Sura Qadiri, College Assistant Professor of French and Postcolonial Literature, and Professor Charles Forsdick, Drapers Professor of French, from the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics at Cambridge to AUB in February 2026.
