Join the Virtual Professional Development Program at the Department of Education, AUB, from February 1 to May 25, 2026!
The Department of Education will be launching a series of free, virtual, interactive professional development workshops during the period extending from February 1 to May 25, 2026. These workshops aim to strengthen the professional capacity of school principals, teachers, administrators, counselors, and educational practitioners by equipping them with innovative, evidence-based strategies that support effective leadership, resilient school practices, and high-quality teaching and learning. Collectively, these efforts seek to enhance schools' ability to respond to the cognitive, social, emotional, and academic needs of all students within a rapidly changing and unpredictable educational landscape shaped by ongoing and consecutive crises.
This professional development initiative is made possible through the generous support of Sheikha Dr. Souad M. Al-Sabah who founded Dar Souad Al-Sabah for publishing and distribution, along with the Souad Al-Sabah Award for intellectual creativity, Kuwait.
The program consists of 24 interactive workshops categorized under five themes:
| Theme 1 | Integrating technology for enhancing school effectiveness and responsiveness to innovations and crises |
| Theme 2 | Adapting teaching strategies to improve school responsiveness to the demands of a changing and uncertain socio-political context |
| Theme 3 | Leading improvement, innovation, and change in schools while balancing urgent demands with achieving long term visions |
| Theme 4 | Maintaining and promoting inclusive education and wellbeing including managing trauma and disruptions of the learning environment |
Theme 5 | Addressing SDGS and Sustainability goals in Curriculum design and school teaching and learning |
