  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members.   AUB is accredited in the US by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and includes six faculties: Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Architecture, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Scholarship Opportunities

The Department of Education salutes the generous scholarships offered to our Education Students:

The MILES AND NANCY Scholarship (Undergraduate / Diploma Students)
The SARAH AL TURKI Scholarship (Graduate Students)

These scholarships are part of the Liberal Arts Scholarship initiative, launched in 2016 by the American University of Beirut to promote Liberal Arts Education in Lebanon and the MENA Region.

This initiative comes as part of the AUB Administration’s vision that emphasizes the importance of the study of humanities and social sciences. Awardees will receive 70% of the tuition fees throughout their undergraduate education at AUB, provided they remain in good academic standing.

Interested candidates should complete both an admissions and a financial aid application indicating education as their chosen field of study.
