NYU Archives in Dialogue Series: Boxes, Bunkers, and Preservation in Times of Precarity

Webinar | October 14, 2026 | 12:00 PM New York | 7:00 PM Beirut | 5:00 PM London

How does preservation take shape in times of precarity, war, and genocide? What must professionals negotiate both in their practices and in their very understanding of the concept? And what futures does preservation ultimately serve?

This webinar brings together professionals and engaged scholars Nadine Panayot, Rachelle Tabet, and Nadi Abusaada to reflect on their work archiving and curating amid the shifting realities of war, and in contexts where memory itself is actively denied. From preservation boxes, to underground bunkers, to histories kept in packed luggage, their work shows how creativity and critical knowledge can expand our understanding of preservation in the face of violence and erasure.

Registration link will be shared shortly.
