I. Eligibility Requirements
Residents can apply to GME Fellowship programs
at AUBMC if they meet the eligibility requirements.
1. Online Application and Required Documents
Applicants wishing to apply to GME Fellowship
Programs must:
- Access the online Graduate Medical Education
application between October 26 and
November 20, 2026.
- Complete all sections of the online application.
- Upload the following documents:
- Photocopy of ID
- Photocopy of passport
- Photocopy of Social Security Number
(if a US citizen or Green Card holder)
- Passport-size photo
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of the license to practice
medicine issued by the Lebanese Ministry
of Public Health (if applicable; required
only from Lebanese citizens)
- Report or letter verifying that the resident
has passed the specialty board certification
(if applicable)
- The deadline to upload any outstanding required
documents is January 8, 2027.
- Personal statements describing interest in the
subspecialty and career plans should be emailed
directly to the relevant programs when applicants
are invited for an interview.
Do not send personal statements to the
GME Office or upload them through the online
application.
2. Application Choices
Number of Choices
- Each applicant may apply to a maximum of
two fellowship programs.
- When completing the online application,
applicants initially apply for one program.
- To add a second choice, applicants must
start a new application.
- Most information from the first application
will be automatically carried over to the
second; however, applicants must specify
their additional program choice.
- The first submitted application will be
considered the first choice, and the second
application will be the second choice.
Matching Process
- Applicants' rankings (first and second choice)
will be used in the matching process, with
priority given to the first choice.
- If accepted to both programs, applicants will
automatically be assigned to their first choice
and removed from the second-choice list.
- Fellowship programs are blinded to applicants'
rankings and will not know which program was
selected as the first or second choice.
Important Notes
- The online application system allows a
maximum of two applications.
- Any attempt to start or submit a third
application will be disregarded by the
GME Office.
- The GME Office will not accept changes to
program choices after submission.
3. Application Process
Application Review and Selection Process
- Applications of eligible applicants will
be forwarded to the relevant programs.
- Applicants may be invited for an interview
in one or two programs.
- Accepted applicants who accept an offered
position and sign the fellowship agreement,
but subsequently decide not to join the
GME Fellowship Program, will not be eligible
to apply to any GME Program at AUB in
the future.
