Short description
Biological systems pose a wide range of computational problems. Biological processes are inherently noisy and nonlinear. Modern techniques in molecular biology generate large, high-dimensional datasets that can reveal, among others, regulatory networks or trees of ancestry. Students in the Computational Bioscience track apply in their thesis computational concepts to a biological problem. The track requires at least one course that focuses on biology (e.g. Bioinformatics) and methodological courses tailored to the thesis problem.
