Program description:
In response to the increasing demand for expertise in the languages, histories, and cultures of the Islamic civilization, the Faculty of Arts & Sciences (FAS) has developed an Online Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies.
The proposed Online Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies meets the growing demand for rigorous and accessible education in the field.
With a global interest in understanding Islamic history, religion and culture, this program seeks to bridge the educational gap by offering a comprehensive online learning experience.
With a promise to empower participants with market-relevant skills and knowledge, this flexible, online, bilingual program offers courses in key areas such as Islamic Ethics, ethical pluralism, Law, and Sociology. It prepares professionals for roles in academia, consulting, journalism, and beyond, enhancing their career prospects and cultural understanding in a dynamically evolving global context.
Admission Requirements:
Admission to the program follows the university’s Policy of Graduate Academic Diploma Programs.
To be eligible for this program, you will need:
- An undergraduate bachelor’s degree in any field of study or its equivalent from AUB or other recognized institutions of higher learning with an average of at least 75 percent (or standardized equivalent from other institutions of higher learning.)
- Satisfactory English language proficiency tests scores as per AUB admission requirements for graduate studies.
- An applicant who does not meet the minimum undergraduate average requirements but appears to have reasonable potential as manifested by relevant practical experience or high scores on relevant standardized exams, may be admitted based on justified recommendation.
