The Accessible Education Office (AEO) is an integral part of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at AUB. It is the university's central unit responsible for facilitating equitable access to academic programs and university life for students with documented disabilities. The AEO works to remove barriers to learning through reasonable accommodations, consults with student, faculty, and staff, supports assistive technology implementation, and collaborates with the AUB community to ensure accessibility while upholding academic integrity and university standards.
Key Objectives:
- Strengthen institutional accessibility governance and policy clarity.
- Improve operational efficiency and disability case management systems.
- Promote early student engagement and responsible accommodation implementation.
- Review and determine accommodations eligibility and student responsibilities.
- Empower students with disability through advocacy and collaboration.
- Enhance faculty/staff collaboration and awareness of accessibility processes.
If you are a student with a documented disability or condition that is affecting your academic achievement and you are seeking accommodations in your courses and programs, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to ensure that you get the accommodations you need for your academic pursuits.
