    Arab Reform Initiative

    About

The Arab Reform Initiative (ARI) is an independent Arab think tank dedicated to enabling democratic change, inclusive governance, and social and economic justice across the Arab region. Through rigorous research, policy dialogue, and regional collaboration, ARI amplifies local voices and provides evidence-based solutions to today's most pressing political, economic, and social challenges.

Under the FOW hub, ARI is working on the FORWARD Project to conduct a comprehensive policy research study on how digitalization, artificial intelligence (AI), and the energy transition are transforming labor markets in Lebanon & Egypt. The study will examine how these rapid shifts interact with existing social protection systems, revealing structural inadequacies that render them fragmented, unsustainable, and non-inclusive. By generating critical evidence, the project aims to propose practical policy solutions that can reshape social protection systems, making them universal, adaptable, and resilient, ultimately fostering a Future of Work (FoW) that is more inclusive, socially sensitive, and just.

    About

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is an international research for development organization that delivers innovative, science-based solutions for resilient and sustainable agriculture in dry regions. ICARDA works to improve food security, livelihoods, and climate adaptation through cutting-edge research on crops, water management, and natural resource sustainability.

Under the FOW hub, ICARDA is pioneering an action research project in Morocco, Lebanon & Tunisia, exploring how digital marketing, solar energy, and neglected & underutilized (NUS) crops can enhance women's economic empowerment in cooperatives. Through surveys, community conversations, and capacity-building initiatives, this study will address intersectionality, gender-specific barriers, and technological adoption challenges in accessing AI, digital, and low-carbon technologies; ensuring more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable development.
