Networks and Partnerships

The Institute is already an active member of key networks and partnerships (listed below). Each provides an advantage point for the Institute to create vital partnerships regionally and internationally and address thematic challenges and matters which are of common interest.

 EuroMeSCo

EuroMeSCo represents the main network of think tanks and research centers in the Euro-Mediterranean area. Established in 1996, the network encompasses 113 institutes from over 30 European and Southern Mediterranean countries. It fosters research, dialogue, and advocacy on Euro-Mediterranean politics and policies through joint-research programmes that focus on security, migrations and economic development in the Mediterranean.

 MESA

MESA is a non-profit association that promotes the study of the Middle East. It is engaged in supporting high quality programs, publications, and services that enhance the understanding of the Middle East and its communities.

 RANS MENA

RANS MENA is a coordinating body comprised of organizations in and of the 22 MENA countries that are members of the League of Arab States.  Their key objective is to encourage and support policy driven research aimed at countering statelessness in the MENA region, this is implemented via the MENA Statelessness Platform which serves as a main hub for organizations and experts to collaborate and achieve outcomes related to statelessness.

LPRND

Lebanon Policy Research Network on Displacement (LPRND), supported by UNHCR, to which the Institute plays the role of Secretariat, aims to address the negative narrative associated with refugees and influence policy making in a way that promotes refugee dignity. Through a participatory approach, the Network seeks to amplify the voices of local actors, and strengthen inclusive partnerships which encompass refugees and host communities, as well as diverse components of civil society.

 WPS Regional Hub

Women, Peace, and Security (WSP) Regional Hub aims to act as a regional space for dialogue and applied research through a strong partnership with UN Women’s Regional Office for Arab states. The Hub will serve to promote the Women, Peace and Security agenda across the region.

Athar Portal

The Institute continues its partnership with Athar, an open repository for researchers, policy makers, the public, and funding agencies, that targets research in and on the Arab World. Its engagement in such platforms helps to build diverse partnerships and create a channel between Lebanon and key regional players as the country is heavily impacted and entwined with the ongoing regional state of affairs and developments, i.e., Syria’s protracted crisis, the war on Gaza, energy exploration, Europe’s increasing influence and leverage in the Middle East.
