​The Government Engagement Platform (GEP) team met with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to present a product reflecting the Lebanese government’s work and progress over the past year.


This initiative highlights key reforms, partnerships, and policy efforts undertaken across sectors, documenting a year of action and collaboration. By capturing these milestones, the product aims to strengthen transparency, institutional memory, and evidence-informed policymaking in Lebanon.

GEP remains committed to supporting government institutions in translating knowledge into policy and ensuring that progress is documented, communicated, and built upon.​


​The Government Engagement Platform (GEP) at the American University of Beirut was pleased to present its mission and workplan to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Grand Serail - July 17, 2025



​Current / planned engagements with selected ministries and ministers were discussed including a coordinated and aligned plan of action. ​

GEP is a first-of-its-kind initiative in Lebanon and the region, designed to provide real-time, evidence-informed policy support governments, especially during this critical window for reform. The meeting focused on how GEP can strategically align with government priorities through:

  • Real-time technical and strategic advisory services
  • Access to AUB’s wide-ranging interdisciplinary expertise
  • Support for inter-ministerial coordination and dialogue
  • Data-driven insights to inform decision-making


GEP reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside national leadership to help drive forward impactful, high-priority reforms.

In li​ne with its strategy to foster cross-sector collaboration and evidence-informed policymaking, the Government Engagement Platform (GEP) at the American University of Beirut held a series of strategic meetings with key Lebanese institutions, including:
  • The Prime Minister’s Office
  • ​Deputy Prime Minister of Lebanon
  • The Ministry of State for Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence​
  • The Ministry of Public Health
  • The Ministry of Social Affairs
  • The Ministry of Labor
  • The Ministry of Education and Higher Education
  • The Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR)

These engagements reflect GEP’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with government leaders and contributing to national reform agendas through tailored, evidence-informed support.
The primary objectives of these meetings were to: (1) Present GEP’s mandate and strategic approach to public sector engagement, (2) Better understand the priorities, challenges, and ongoing reform efforts of each ministry, (3) Identify potential areas for collaboration, including technical assistance, policy development, and capacity building.
These discussions have laid the groundwork for future collaboration in service of more effective, transparent, and people-centered governance in Lebanon.


Faculty Engagement

​The Government Engagement Platform (GEP) recently held a series of strategic meetings with faculties at the American University of Beirut (AUB)

In line with its strategy to foster cross-sector collaboration and evidence-informed policymaking, the Government Engagement Platform (GEP) recently held a series of strategic meetings with faculties at the American University of Beirut (AUB), including:

  • The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS)
  • The Faculty of Medicine (FM)
  • The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS)
  • The Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB)
  • The Hariri School of Nursing (HSON)

These engagements aimed to:
  • Present GEP’s vision and ongoing work with government partners
  • Explore avenues for interdisciplinary collaboration across research, training, and technical assistance
  • Identify synergies to better connect academic expertise with pressing national priorities​​
