  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Karst Research Cluster

Overview

The Karst Research Cluster focuses on advanced hydrogeological investigations of complex karst aquifer systems in semi-arid and Mediterranean regions. The cluster integrates high-resolution field monitoring, artificial tracer testing, quantitative vulnerability mapping, and integrated numerical modeling to assess groundwater availability, transport mechanisms, and vulnerability under changing climatic and land-use conditions.
