  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members.   AUB is accredited in the US by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and includes six faculties: Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Architecture, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

FAFS Dean's Honor List

The Dean’s Honor List recognizes FAFS students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement during the Fall and Spring terms. Students who meet the University’s academic and conduct requirements are recognized for their exceptional performance and commitment to academic excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

To be placed on the Dean’s Honor List at the end of a Fall or Spring term, a student must:

Be registered for at least 12 credits of required courses.
Not be repeating the term or have an outstanding academic probation.
Have passed all courses taken during the term and achieved either:
an overall average of 85 or above in the required courses; or
an overall average of 80 or above while ranking approximately within the top 10% of the class.
Not have been subject to any disciplinary action within the University.
Be deemed by the Dean to merit inclusion on the Dean’s Honor List.
