The solo exhibition by Ala Younis brings together works from Ala Younis's research-led practice, some of which emerged through direct or tangential engagement with AUB's libraries and archives. Younis typically begins with a fragment: a building, an image, an anecdote, a publication. She then follows it into layered narratives of modernity, politics, and cultural imagination in the Arab region, tracing how architecture, publishing, and personal testimony shape memory and present understanding. Architecture runs through the exhibition as both subject and method. It includes Plan for Greater Baghdad (2015), which draws on Rifat Chadirji's photographic collection once held in Beirut, alongside newer works that revisit the artist's own architectural training, where drawing tools, prototypes, and the passage from hand to machine become the material of her thinking.
