A trustee since 2025, David C. Burke is the CEO of Selby Lane Capital LLC, an investment firm specializing in private asset class portfolios for international institutional and individual clients. He was previously the Founder, CEO, and on the Board of Makena Capital Management and Managing Director of the Stanford Management Company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Burke was an international capital markets lawyer in London and Paris with Linklaters. He has served on the Boards of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, University of Virginia Law School Foundation, Miller Center for the US Presidency, University of Virginia Investment Management Company, Stanford University Athletics, and Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the $5 billion University of Virginia Capital Campaign. Mr. Burke is an inactive Member of the CA, NY, and DC Bar Associations and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and School of Law, where he teaches courses on global investing and sponsors the Human Rights Clinic. Mr. Burke is a graduate of the University of Virginia (BS in Finance'88, JD '93, and MA in Arts in International Relations '94). He has certificates from the Stanford Graduate School of Business SEP Executive Program ('19) and Harvard Business School.
